Supporting Early Detection and Standardised Patient Management of RHD in Indonesia

Reach is providing technical support to the Indonesia Heart Foundation and Indonesia Heart Association as they work collaboratively to strengthen capacity to diagnose and manage RHD and to better understand burden of disease among school aged children. The two-year project (2024-2026) is being implemented in four provinces and is funded by the Philips Foundation and supported by the World Heart Federation.

In mid-2024, Reach President Professor Liesl Zühlke served as a guest keynote speaker at Indonesian Society of Echocardiography annual meeting in Jakarta. During her presentation, she discussed the recently updated World Heart Federation Echocardiography Guidelines, further contributing to the collaborative efforts to improve RHD management and early detection in Indonesia.
